About

Hi! I'm Anj. I want to develop friendly, open source AI that can help organise the world and eliminate wasted resources.

My short lived career as an academic…

On 4 Nov 2019, I started a three year position as a research fellow at the Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A²I²), Deakin Burwood campus. In 2021, I was awarded a two year National Intelligence Postdoctoral Grant, Platform for Semantic Integration of Heterogeneous Sensor Sources, providing $306,220 of funding for my research. In 2022, I was promoted from Level A to Level B, and my contract was renewed for a further three years. Following the resignation of a colleague, I took over responsibilities for coordinating research internship placements at A²I², and ended up personally co-supervising seven research internship projects 2023. I also served as a Research Integrity Advisor. On 4 March 2024, I departed the university by way of redundancy.

What next…

I'm planning to launch a startup called #AI that combines large language models + knowledge graphs to allow users to find/share anything about everything without the need for custom apps. For example, rather than needing a custom housefinding app you could just ask "I'm looking for a sharehouse in #Burwood with my own bathroom, book an inspection when my calendar is next free" or "Change all government and commercial services to use my new address" and it will take care of the rest. More to come soon.

Data De-identification Portal

Deidentify.org is a tool I created to improve data de-identification practices and reduce risk of participant re-identification. It encourages the researcher to precisely specify their analysis and de-identification methods upfront, and increases transparency by giving the data custodian fine-grained control over which analyses are run.
